Tribute Royalty was a David Saxe Productions show at the V Theater inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. Three of the most recognizable figures in modern music history, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Lady Gaga, performed on one stage through the art of tribute. The show ran as a 4:00 PM matinee, one of the few family-friendly afternoon shows available on the Las Vegas Strip, dark Sundays, all ages welcome.
The producer, David Saxe, grew up in Las Vegas show business. His mother was a Folies Bergère dancer, his father was a saxophonist and bandleader for the Rat Pack. Saxe opened his first show on the Strip at age 17, the youngest producer in Las Vegas history, and in the decades since has produced more than 100 shows in Las Vegas and worldwide. He built the V Theater in 2004 and the $34 million Saxe Theater in 2010 to house his own productions. Tribute Royalty ran as part of that lineup.
Our work was sales, marketing, and all design collateral. Ticketing pages, advertising, marketing collateral, sales materials, and group sales collateral. The assignment is specific to Las Vegas Strip entertainment marketing, a category with its own rules. Every inch of real estate on Las Vegas Boulevard is competing for a tourist's dollar and a tourist's time. The materials have to earn attention in a window of seconds, sell a specific time slot against dozens of alternatives happening at the same hour, and work equally well for walk-ups, group bookings, and advance online purchases. Those are different design problems. We solved all of them.
We ran sales and marketing for the show and produced the design collateral. Advertising, marketing materials, ticketing pages, sales collateral, and group sales materials. Every surface between the tourist on Las Vegas Boulevard and a purchased ticket for a 4 PM matinee at the V Theater.
